I am a big believer in regional racing programs. New York and California have great purses and the state bred programs are outstanding in terms of purses and owner awards. With the advent of slots in Pennsylvania, that region has had a huge increase in purses and also owner's and breeder's awards. We will definitely be in a position to exploit the benefits of the regional racing scene. I think it is important to stay involved in all aspects of the sport of horse racing.

 

LAY UPS

Classic Bloodstock has always offered lay-up facilities. With acres of individual turnout paddocks a free walker, 2 swimming pools, and miles of trails surrounding a 1 mile dirt and 7/8ths turf course we are ideally suited for getting the equine athlete back in the pink. We now offer class IV laser rehabilitation, the ultimate in healing qualities the Class IV laser is the highest form of therapeutic Laser available.

LASER

Classic Bloodstock's exclusive laser therapy program offers rapid recovery times from injuries and gets your horse back to the winner's circle quickly, safely and more economically than traditional therapies.

We have combined the scientific breakthrough of Class IV laser light therapy with decades of experience conditioning the equine athlete. The result is a complete healing and reconditioning program at a fraction of the cost that the "Equine Rehab" centers charge.

EXAMPLES:

A show pony was hit by a back hoe and had a terrible laceration to his forearm. He was to go to the Pony Finals and made it, thanks to the Pegasus laser. This therapy was administered by our associate Kirsty. Over the course of three weeks he was treated once a day for 5 days and then every other day  for an additional week. He had a four day break during the July yearling sale and then was treated every day for three days and every other day for the final week. As you can see from the video the laceration is nearly invisible and the pony has full range of motion. The team placed third in the overall pony competition.

Removed a fresh splint in 8 days and the horse is breezing pain free without the blemish. I

Healed a pair of high suspensories that were painful to palpation and jogged lame in two weeks.The vet who did the ultrasound thought it was a different horse.

SUMMER NOTE won after 17 months off for a bowed tendon, only 12 days off my farm. It was pretty impressive as he was a rogue and had a very negative reputation as well as the tendon injury. Summer Note ran second to Left Bank in the fastest Tom Fool ever run 15 days after his initial winning start after laying up and training with us.

FACILITIES:

Classic Bloodstock has relocated to Nelson Jones Training Center (formerly Hooper Farm)

with an excellent lighted one mile dirt rated, dirt track and a 7/8ths turf course. We have miles of tree shaded riding areas 2 european style grass gallops and numerous individual turn out paddocks. We also have a 6 horse free walker and all of our 46 stalls are under one roof. This is the perfect facility for readying young horses to race successfully and to bring the older horse back from a rest. We are very excited about the new facility, and the horses all seem to love it.
